SALZBURG 15 May 2007 - Underscoring the significant contribution that NGOs can make towards practical programming and policy building in the area of migration and development. While it is difficult to find an issues that is more widely talked about in global governance, business and humanitarian circles today, migration and development is not new to international discussion. Given the practical experience, partnerships and operational programming of so many NGOs over the years with States, intergovernmental and international organisations and their direct consitiuency--the migrant that is at the heart of all of these matters--NGOs belong in all major migration and development policy discussions. no |
