UN Committee on Migrant Workers

GENEVA 28 November 2007 - At the eighth session of the UN Migrant Workers' Committee, ICMC delivered a response to the first report submitted to the UN Committee on Migrant Workers by Bolivia, emphasizing the rights of migrant families.

ICMC shares questions and concerns generated an analysis of the report from Bolivia, which includes the perspectives and experiences of ICMC Members and partners working directly with migrants and their families on the ground in Bolivia and around the world.

The statement focuses on Convention rights and obligations towards both non-Bolivian migrant workers and members of their families in Bolivia; as well as Bolivian migrant workers and members of their families living abroad. ICMC calls attention not only to the rights of migrants, but also to the Bolivian government's obligations to them under the Migrant Workers' Convention.
