International Forum on Migration and Peace
ANTIGUA 29 January 2009 - ICMC Secretary General, Johan Ketelers, presents five core fields of action that demonstrate how the Church meaningfully contributes to and engages in promoting social cohesion and peace, both in programming and in policy building. Five core ranges of action are essential in the Church's efforts to achieve a paradign shift in the global discussion of migration and development. Namely,
ICMC argues that migration must be discussed, not only with respect for the economic and social forces involves, but also for the lives, hopes, challenges, contributions and common good that migrants and citizens share and can benefit from together. no UNHCR on Faith based leaders, communities and organizationsGeneva, 20 June 2014 (UNHCR) - UNHCR recently embarked on a ‘journey of mutual discovery’ with faith-based organizations by exploring the role of faith in humanitarian responses. ICMC would like to draw attention to this 2012 report, in order to mark the role that religious organizations can play in protecting the most vulnerable. The fifth High Commissioner’s Dialogue on Protection Challenges was held on the theme of Faith and Protection. The Dialogue assembled over 400 representatives of faith-based organizations, faith leaders and other partners for a two-day discussion in Geneva on partnership with faith-based actors.
