Migrant rights ICMC applauded for policy work

GENEVA, 15 August 2008 — In an August 2008 research paper by Alexander Betts, Director of the Global Migration Governance Project at the University of Oxford, ICMC is applauded for its work in pursuing the protection of irregular migrants' human rights through valuable leadership of NGO activism on the policy framework level. Betts' paper, entitled "Towards a 'soft law' framework for the protection of vulnerable migrants," proposes the international community's adoption of a soft law policy framework in order to ensure the rights of irregular migrants.
