John K. Bingham to Head ICMC Advocacy; Emma Viaud appointed Head of ICMC Communications![]() GENEVA March 1,2006 - ICMC is pleased to announce two important appointments effective immediately. Mr. John Bingham, who had been serving as Head of Communications for ICMC, has been appointed to Head ICMC's Advocacy program, picking up the functions that had been performed by Ms. Mariette Grange. Taking over as Head of Communications is Ms. Emma Viaud. In his new role, Mr. Bingham will draw on skills he developed as a lawyer, program manager and advocate over three 8-year periods: first on Wall Street, then as lead human rights trainer working with the Catholic Church in refugee camps managed by the UN on the Thai-Cambodian border, and at the University of Phnom Penh, and most recently with Catholic Charities in New York, where he served as Director of Immigrant Services, a member of the Policy Advisory Group of the Migration and Refugee Services of the US Catholic Conference of Bishops, and Chair of the 180-member-organization New York Immigration Coalition. Ms. Viaud joins ICMC after 3 years directing the communications and health-related human rights program of the World Medical Association, the global representative body for physicians, in its headquarters near Geneva. At the WMA, Ms. Viaud worked to invigorate the network of 86 member countries with regular interaction, annual conferences, publications, and a vigorous website. An entrepreneur and self starter, Ms. Viaud had earlier launched and managed a successful real estate business for several years. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian, Ms. Viaud adds great value to ICMC's effort to broaden and deepen relationships with its worldwide network of members.
