2006 Expertise and Action
2006
This publication aims to provide an overview of the core areas of action, expertise and identity that ICMC has developed over the years.
Throughout the 55 years since its founding, the International Catholic Migration Commission has evolved and adapted to the changing needs in the field of migration and refugee assistance. Created by Pope Pius XII six years after the end of the Second World War, ICMC's first operations assisted those displaced by war in Europe. Since then ICMC has gained in experience and increased its impact to become a worldwide network of member organizations with its headquarters in Geneva. ICMC built its identity and reputation for quality by developing a specific range of activities to serve the needs of uprooted people regardless of faith, race ethnicity or nationality. |
