This publication aims to reinforce the essential role of resettlement in Europe. Considered one of the three durable solutions, resettlement in a "third country" is a lasting welcome for people in need of international protection.

It offers an overview of the UNHCR framework for resettlement, field experiences, perspectives and the knowledge of a number of European NGOs and government staff working in resettlement programmes. It presents a country-by-country description of existing resettlement programmes, partners and practices in the countries that are currently conducting resettlement in Europe.
